Cricket Stadium at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 Delhi Cantt
The Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Kiren Rijiju jointly inaugurated the newly constructed Cricket Stadium at KV No. 1, Delhi Cantt in Delhi on .
Our approach seeks to bring distinctive architectural designs to the school which is iconic and contemporary, while optimising seating provision and public amenities.
The stand feature an arching sweeping roof that spans the entire length. The building’s bold sweeping form and identity is achieved by wrapping the roof with one continuous aerodynamic PTFE glass fibre fabric roof. Careful analysis of the building’s orientation has relented its design and unique form. A large overhang on the South (towards pitch side) shelters the transparent facade while shading and protecting spectators along the stand.
The proposals provide a hospitality area, changing room and accommodating a seating capacity of 120 people. In addition, the designs will greatly improve the north facing frontage, creating a new and improved view for students and parents arriving on match days.
The new stadium constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.94 crore has three cricket pitches, an automatic sprinkler system for ground watering, ground drainage, a viewing gallery, and an underground water reservoir.
